Hermann Dietrich Dominikus Freiherr von und zu Brenken (born March 20, 1820 at Erpernburg Castle , † May 13, 1894 in Wewer ) was the owner of the manor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Hermann von und zu Brenken was the son of Friedrich Carl von und zu Brenken from the Westphalian noble family von und zu Brenken and his first wife Theresia von Schade. He attended the grammar school in Paderborn and the universities of Bonn , Würzburg and the Hohenheim and Tharandt academies . After extensive travels he was the owner of the manor Wewer and after the death of his brother Reinhard in 1870 also of Erpernburg , Vernaburg , Holthausen in Westphalia. His wife Maria Freiin (Countess) von Haxthausen (1826–1880), only daughter of Werner von Haxthausen , brought the goods - Neuhaus with Salzburg Castle in Bavaria. Brenken was district deputy since 1854, council member, Lieutenant a. D., President of the St. Michaels Association and member of many other associations and societies.

From 1860 to 1877 and again in 1885 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia .

Between 1874 and 1884 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the center and the constituency of Minden 4 (Paderborn- Büren ).
