Hero is an action film directed by Subhash Ghai from India and starring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri .

The story begins with Pasha being taken to prison. To get out of the situation, he writes to his best man, Jackie. Jackie goes to Shrikanth Mathur and warns him. He kidnaps Shrikanth's daughter Radha. He tells her he's a cop and they fall in love; However, she finds out he's an idiot. Nevertheless, she does not leave him, but urges him to give up. Transformed by true love, Jackie surrenders to the police and is imprisoned for two years.
At home, Radha tells the whole truth to her brother Daamodar. To keep Radha from getting married to someone else, he calls his friend Jimmy to put on a show that Radha and Jimmy love each other. Jimmy misunderstands the situation and falls in love with Radha. When Jackie comes back he's working in a garage and trying to reform himself. Despite everything, Shrikanth knocks him out of his life. After many days and events that follow, Daamodar finds out that Jimmy is a drug smuggler. After being released from prison, Pasha seeks revenge against Shrikanth and Jackie, so he kidnaps Radha, Shrikanth, and Daamodar. Jackie arrives at the last moment and sets them all free. In the end, Shrikanth Radha lets Jackie marry.
