Johannes Schröder (* 1974 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) is a German comedian , cabaret artist and high school teacher who appears under the stage name "Herr Schröder". In his program, he humorously reports on everyday life at a school from the perspective of a teacher.

life and career

Schröder graduated from high school in 1992 and studied teaching for German and English in Freiburg . Before he started teaching at the Oken-Gymnasium in Offenburg in 2004 , he did a year of work & travel in Spain . During his tenure he ran a theater group in the school. He directed 16 plays and completed basic training in theater education while working.

The goal of realizing his own comedy and stage project drew him to Toronto , Canada in 2014 , where he started a sabbatical . There he watched a lot from comedy clubs and discovered his passion as a comedian. When he returned to Berlin, he was also active as a comedian in Germany and won several awards there. In spring 2017 he started the solo comedy program "World of Teacher - A Trauma Comes True", which premiered in Cologne and went on a live tour through Germany , Austria and Switzerland . He is now on leave as a teacher.

The German presenter and founder of the Quatsch Comedy Club , Thomas Hermanns , says about Schröder:

"Mr. Schröder has managed to get something wildly new out of the more classic figure of a teacher. He is the bad teacher gone mad, who calls all former students on stage for revenge. And who would not want to take revenge on his teachers ... in this respect a large audience beckons him. "

Schröder is ambivalent about the choice of his profession. According to his own statements, he had a lot of fun with the students, but the many conferences in the course of the switch to all-day school and G8 also caused stomach aches. He therefore often self-ironically describes himself as an “civil servant with a background of frustration” and reports on his “life on the margins of correction in society”. The world praised his confident lateral entry and describes the program as casual and at the same time controlled, virtuoso and independent. Only someone who has worked as a teacher for several years can be so precise and confident in this role.
