The manor house Reez is a manor house built around 1838-1840 in the district of Reez of the municipality of Dummerstorf in the district of Rostock ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). The two-storey house in brick - exposed masonry with a central projectile as well as some outbuildings of the historical ensemble are now under monument protection .

history

The place Reez was shown for the first time in 1283 in a combing register of the city of Rostock . Reez became a manor in 1576 under the manorial rule of the von Preen family . In 1579 the property became the property of Vicko von Bülow . In 1608 the von Reventlow family acquired the manor; In 1684 the von Vietinghoffs became the new lords of the Reez. In 1744 the von Flotow family took over the estate and sold it to Rittmeister von Müller in 1803. In 1817, the Privy Councilor, Count Carl von Bassewitz, acquired the Reez manor; under his manorial rule, the manor was expanded or rebuilt with new farm buildings and the village street between 1824 and 1835. In 1838 the Prussian Chamberlain (1827) Carl von Plessen and his wife Anna von Plessen, née. von Carnap , who had previously lived in Eller Castle near Düsseldorf , the manor and had their new manor built from 1838 to 1840. They had the coats of arms of the Plessen and Carnap families affixed above the entrance portal, which are still there today. The Plessen family remained the owners of the Reez manor until Carl von Plessen's great-grandson, Gerhard von Plessen, was expropriated in 1945 .

Up until 1991 the manor house housed a restaurant and until 1997 apartments.

In 2006, the Rostock entrepreneur Wolfgang Grieger took over parts of the former Reez manor and set up the Reez horse country on the extensive grounds , which is now grouped around the historic manor as an ensemble of buildings and riding facilities.
