Herta Mayen

Herta Mayen ; actually Herta Mayer , occasionally also known as Hertha Mayen (born June 19, 1922 in Vienna ; † July 10, 2015 there ) was an Austrian dancer and actress .

Life

She received ballet lessons from the age of three and later singing lessons. At the age of 15 she appeared at the Femina revue stage and later at the Ronacher establishment and at the Vienna City Theater .

In 1938 she went to Berlin, where she performed at the comedians' cabaret . After taking acting lessons, she played at the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz in Munich in 1939 , then again at the State Theater in Berlin . From 1939 to 1945 she worked as a dancer in the Admiralspalast and at the Metropoltheater .

Since 1939 she was seen in supporting roles with dance interludes in feature films. She also sang in Love Stories (1943) and Spiel mit der Liebe (1944). After her marriage, she temporarily moved to Buenos Aires , where she continued her acting career at the Deutsche Bühne from 1953 to 1955. For health reasons she returned to Vienna and from 1958 appeared mainly on the Löwinger stage .
