Hervé Meschinet

Hervé Meschinet de Richemond (born August 26, 1959 in Saint-Étienne ) is a French jazz musician ( saxophone , flute ).

Meschinet worked with Claude Nougaro , Charles Aznavour , Nicole Croisille , Wynton Marsalis , Larry Coryell , Pierre Michelot , Riccardo Del Fra , Daniel Humair , Gérard Badini's Super Swing Machine , the Big Band of Michel Legrand and the Paris Jazz Big Band ( Django d ' Or for Paris 24 ). He played with guitarist Gilles Renne and organist Philippe Petit in the collaborative band Mister Hyde . In 1996 he founded his own quartet; for his debut album Cannonblues he received the Django d'Or in 1998 in the “Newcomer” category. On his second album Night in Tokyo (with the pianist Alfio Origlio, Christophe Levan on bass and Christophe Bras on drums and the guitarist Gilles Renne) he concentrated on playing the flute; the album received critical acclaim. Furthermore he belongs to the groups of René Urtreger and Fredrika Stahl . He can also be heard on the album Chambre avec vue by Henri Salvador , on Louisa Bey's Turning Me Jazz and on Stephan Eicher's 1000 Vies .
