Fredrika Stahl (born October 24, 1984 in Stockholm , Sweden ) is a singer-songwriter living in France who works with the stylistic devices of jazz in the pop area .
Life
Born in Sweden, Fredrika Stahl came to France at the age of four due to her father's work. When she was 12, the family returned to Sweden with her. There she also graduated from school. In a kind of orientation year, she went back alone to Paris at the age of 17, where she has lived ever since.

Fredrika Stahl received both ballet and piano lessons and is self-taught , especially in the areas of singing and guitar . When she returned to Paris, she tried to compose and write her first songs. The producer Geef brought her together with the pianist Tom McClung . McClung formed a backing band, and in mid-2006 the first album A Fraction of You was created for Vogue Records .
Appearances with artists such as Erick Poirier , Ichiro Onoe and Manuel Marches followed . In 2008 Stahl's second album Tributaries followed , which was created with a four-piece backing band, which also includes the Norwegian guitarist Øyvind Nypan . She toured mainly in Japan and Germany and appeared as a support band.
In 2010, she contributed her song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to a television commercial for car manufacturer Nissan .
In May 2011 she toured Europe, performing in Germany for example in Freiburg im Breisgau , Stuttgart and Offenburg, as well as in London, Geneva and Istanbul.
With Dina ögon blå , a song that exceptionally has a Swedish text, she also gained access to German radio stations.

Stahl works with many jazz musicians and occasionally plays jazz standards himself or jams with big bands. She incorporates elements from the field of jazz into the arrangements of her pop songs.
