Herwig Büchele

Herwig Büchele (born February 27, 1935 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian theologian and author .

Life

Büchele studied economics and philosophy in Innsbruck and theology from 1965 to 1970 in Leuven . He is a religious of the Jesuits and was ordained a priest in 1969.

From 1972 to 1983 Büchele was director of the Catholic Social Academy in Austria . Büchele was Professor of Christian Social Studies at the University of Innsbruck from 1978 to 2001 and there from 1995 to 1999 Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Büchele has been retired since 2001.

Büchele is co-initiator of the network of Christians in support of the Global Marshall Plan Initiative .
