The Hessenstiftung - Familie Has Zukunft is a foundation under civil law with legal capacity and is based in Bensheim . It was founded on November 30, 2001 by the State of Hesse , represented by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs (today: Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration ).

Foundation purpose and goals

The purpose of the Hessenstiftung is to advise politics and society with the aim of improving the current living situation of families in Hessen. It supports research in this field and promotes the development of new approaches to overcome existing obstacles on the way to a family-friendly society. In particular, the foundation wants to show drafts of social framework conditions that promote the desire for family and combine both economic and socio-political possibilities for a better compatibility of family and work . At the same time, the foundation demands and promotes a living environment for children that not only conveys the special security and protection of the family, but also successfully prepares them for the changes in the future.

The Hessenstiftung's family policy philosophy is laid down in 20 principles which the Advisory Board decided in 2002 and which go back to Wassilios E. Fthenakis .

The foundation prefers to carry out its projects together with cooperation partners who participate in the conception and financing. As a rule, it does not provide funding on request.

Building the foundation

The foundation's organs are the three-person executive board, the ten-person advisory board and the management. The board of directors and advisory board work on a voluntary basis, the management, which has been the responsibility of the Karl Kübel Foundation for Children and Family since 2004 , works full-time.

The chairman of the board is State Secretary Anne Janz , Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration . The board of directors administers the foundation's assets, determines the guidelines for the allocation of foundation funds together with the advisory board and decides on the use of the foundation funds.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board is the Hessian Minister for Social Affairs and Integration Kai Klose . The advisory board advises the board on all matters relating to the foundation and approves the budget and business plan. The members of the board of directors and the advisory board come from different areas of society - politics, science, the media or business and thus represent the cross-section of society. You work on a voluntary basis for the foundation.

The project-related and administrative activities are carried out by the management, which reports to the board of directors.
