The Hessenweg 1 is a long-distance path in Hesse , that of Eltville by the Taunus , the Westerwald and the Lahn-Dill upland until after Heringhausen on Diemelsee in Waldeck country leads. The Hessenweg is part of a network of hiking trails in Hessen that was created in the 1980s through cooperation between the various Hessian hiking associations.

On the route are u. a. the ruins of Scharfenstein Castle , Kloster Gronau , Arnstein Abbey , Castle Laurenburg , Schaumburg Castle , Burg Balduinstein , Schloss Oranienstein , the Cathedral of Limburg , Weilburg , Braunfels Castle , Greifenstein Castle , the historic town of Herborn , the Wilhelm stones , Biedenkopf , the Bagpipe , Frankenberg , the Edersee , Korbach , the former Flechtdorf monastery and the Diemelsee .

A white sign with the inscription Hessenweg serves as a hiking sign, but this is not always attached.
