Hewitt is a city in McLennan County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in the east of Texas, a little west of the county center, 14 km west of Waco and has a total area of ​​17.9 km² without any significant water surface.

history

The place was founded in 1882, when the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad laid their tracks here. The place was named after George A. Hewitt , a railway director.
