Hieronymus Ehrensberger (born September 30, 1813 in Lauterhofen , † November 3, 1873 in Berchtesgaden ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Ehrensberger was born as the son of the master baker Adam Ehrensberger in Lauterhofen and his wife Barbara, born in Lengfeld. Mosburger, born. In 1845 he married Julie Wülfert, a daughter of the district judge Gustav Friedrich Wülfert and his wife Sofie, born. Molitor. A son from this marriage was the chemist and industrial manager Emil Ehrensberger , a grandson of the ministerial official Otto Ehrensberger .

Life

Hieronymus Ehrensberger attended the humanistic grammar school in Amberg until 1834 . According to the parents' wishes, he should actually study theology . Instead, however, he embarked on a legal career. He completed his studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he joined the newly founded Corps Franconia in 1836 . After the legal exam (1839) he was a legal trainee in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate , from 1843 accessist at the appellate court of Amberg. In 1845 he was given the patrimonial court of the Barons von Stauffenberg in Amerdingen . From 1847 he was employed in Jettingen, 1848 as an assessor in Schwabmünchen, 1850 in Eichstätt, 1852 in Forchheim. In 1855 he became district judge in Babenhausen, and in 1860 district administrator in Amberg . In 1872 he retired, moved to Berchtesgaden and bought the Mauerbichl estate there , which later became the property of the Duke of Anhalt and became known as Villa Askania . Ehrensberger died in Berchtesgaden and was buried there too.
