Highgrove House is the country estate of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales , at Tetbury in Gloucestershire , England . It belongs to the Duchy of Cornwall .

history

The residence was built between 1796 and 1798 for John Paul Paul. In 1894 it was renovated after a fire . The house has nine bedrooms and four reception rooms.

After extensive renovations, the Prince of Wales, who is also the Duke of Cornwall, moved to Highgrove with his newlywed wife Diana in the fall of 1981. In 1988 the exterior of the first floor was redesigned according to Prince Charles's plans. In addition, a single-storey wing was added for the staff.

After separating and divorcing his wife, Charles initiated internal changes that were more suited to his tastes and those of his partner and now wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall . He also planned the design of the garden in detail. This also meant that many trees were planted.
