Hikakin ( Japanese ヒ カ キ ン ), actually: Hikaru Kaihatsu ( 開 発 光 , Kaihatsu Hikaru ; born April 21, 1989 in Myōkō , Niigata Prefecture ), is a Japanese web video producer , musician , actor and entrepreneur .

Hikakin became known for his beatboxing and vocal percussion videos, in which he imitated well-known songs in this way. His interpretation of the “ Super Mario Bros. ” melody in particular gained worldwide attention in 2010.

Life

Hikaru Kaihatsu was born on April 21, 1989 in Myōkō and grew up there with his older brother Seiya, who is now known in the same branch as "Seikin". Kaihatsu started ski jumping in third grade but gave up this hobby in favor of beatboxing in twelfth grade. He is considered a pioneer of Japanese YouTube and founded the multi-channel network UUUM in 2013 .

Kaihatsu has been running the YouTube channel "HIKAKIN" since 2006 , on which he only uploads beatboxing videos. His well-known “Super Mario Bros.” video can be found on this channel.

He also operates three other channels. While he is presenting and testing products on "HikakinTV" and demonstrating experiments, he uploads Let's Play videos to "HikakinGames" . In these he plays and comments on cell phone and computer games and is best known for his Minecraft videos. In addition to the channels mentioned, on which several videos are uploaded daily, Kaihatsu also maintains the “HikakinBlog” channel, on which he occasionally and relatively seldom presents excerpts from his everyday life.
