Hildegard Schnell

Hildegard Schnell (born August 21, 1908 in Schwarzholz ; † March 2, 1986 ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After completing secondary school and completing a two-year agricultural apprenticeship, Hildegard Schnell attended a commercial college. After the final exam, she worked as a volunteer and then practiced. After their wedding, she moved to Peru in 1933 . There she made some expeditions into the interior of the country. In 1942 Hildegard Schnell was expelled to the USA and interned in Texas . At the end of 1942 she was exchanged for Germany and lived there in Silesia until 1945. After the end of the war, she fled to her father's farm in the Altmark , which was expropriated at the end of 1945. At the end of 1946 she fled again to Schlüchtern in the western occupation zones .

politics

Hildegard Schnell became a member of the CDU in February 1952. There she was CDU district chairman in 1964. She was a city councilor in Salmünster from 1961 to 1964 and a member of the Schlüchtern district council from 1952 to 1956 . From December 1, 1958 to November 30, 1970, she was a member of the Hessian state parliament for three electoral terms. In 1964 Hildegard Schnell was a member of the 4th and in 1969 the 5th Federal Assembly . On July 19, 1968, Federal President Lübke awarded her the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Other offices

Hildegard Schnell had been working in rural women since 1949 and in 1951 became the district chairwoman of the Schlüchtern association of rural women . In 1970 she became the first chairwoman of the Office for Civic Women's Work
