Hillsong Young & Free (also known as Hillsong Y&F ) is an Australian worship band from Sydney . It was founded in 2012 and is part of Hillsong Church . So far they have released four live albums and one studio album , III (2018). They were also nominated for Best Christian Pop Music Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards .

The band formed in Sydney in 2012 and has been a member of Hillsong Church ever since . It emerged from Hillsong United , which is also a modern music band of the aforementioned denomination and was founded in 1998. 14 years later, Hillsong Young & Free emerged from youth work .

history

The first album We Are Young & Free was released on October 1, 2013 and immediately reached 1st place on the Christian Albums Charts in the USA . It also reached 22nd place on the Billboard 200 . After releasing two EPs in 2015 , they released their second live album, Youth Revival , in February 2016 , which was nominated for Best Christian Pop Music Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards . In the summer of 2018 they released their first studio album III and in November the accompanying live album III (Live at Hillsong Conference) .
