The Hinckley rock is a 1135 m high rocky outcrop in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the northern Neptune Range of the Pensacola Mountains, it rises 6 km northwest of Gillies Rock .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs by the United States Navy from 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Neil Hinckley, a member of the United States Air Force Electronics Test Unit (1957 -1958).
