Hinrich Hormann

Hinrich Hormann (born July 28, 1863 in Delmenhorst ; † February 19, 1920 in Bremen ) was a German educator and politician as a member of the Bremen citizenship and the German Reichstag .

biography

Hormann was the son of a railroad worker. He attended elementary school in Delmenhorst and Woltmershausen . From 1878 to 1883 he graduated from the Bremen teachers' seminar . In 1883 he became an assistant teacher and in 1888 a teacher at the school in Grossenstrasse in the Stephaniviertel in Bremen. From 1904 to 1912 he was the headmaster at the school on Birkenstrasse . From 1912 he headed the Martinischule and then the cathedral school until 1919. He rejected his election as headmaster.

politics

Politically, Hormann was a liberal . He was the founder of the citizens' association (area association) Woltmershausen . In 1897 he was elected a member of the Bremen citizenship as a representative of the 4th grade . He was active in various deputations . From 1900 he was also an archivist for the citizenship. He was elected to the Reichstag from 1907 to 1912 for the Free Association of Liberal Reichstag voters. He belonged to the parliamentary group of the left-liberal Progressive People's Party (FVP). In the Reichstag he advocated shipping and, among other things, the North German Lloyd .

After the First World War he was elected to the German Democratic Party (DDP) in the Bremen National Assembly from 1919/20 in 1919.

Honors

The Hinrich Hormann-Street in Bremen- Kattenturm was named after him.
