Hinrich von Hasbergen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hinrich von Hasbergen , also Hinrik van Hasberghen , (*?; † after 1435) was councilor in Bremen from 1406 to 1418 .

Life

The Hasbergen belonged to the Stiftsadel , but some of them moved to the city of Bremen. A Heinrich von Hasbergen ("Hinricus de Hasbergen") attested in 1229 in a document in which the Count of Oldenburg promised the Bremen church security for his enfeoffment with Wildeshausen Castle , again in 1243. A Diedrich von Hasbergen was mayor in 1305 in Bremen. The "Knights of Hasbergen" can be traced back to 1189. The last mention of the branched family was in the 17th century.

Hinrich's father, Johann von Hasbergen , was the building owner of Our Dear Women in 1378.

Hinrich became a councilor in 1406. His sister Gheze von Hasbergen was married to Hinrich von der Trupe .

In August 1418, Hinrich, together with two ambassadors of King Sigismund , councilors Herbort Duckel and Johann Vasmer, brokered a one-year armistice between the Frisians , Oldenburg and the Hanseatic League , which on the one hand involved the fight against the Vitalienbrüder . On the other hand, Bremen was concerned with building up an extensive territory, which the affected Frisians defended themselves against. Sibet , one of the expelled Frisian chiefs who had to retreat beyond the Jade after a failed attack on the Friedeburg , was forced to postpone his expansion plans for a time. The attempt to penetrate the Butjadinger Land next year also failed. The local population swore subordination and loyalty to the Bremen council. The royal ambassadors protested against this expansion towards the Baltic Sea , which ultimately failed.

In 1422, Hinrich witnessed a donation by Herbort Schene to the Ansgari Church , which was recorded in a notarial instrument.

At the end of the records of the Bremen Council on the city's debt level in 1434, Hinrich received an undisclosed amount of compensation. He testified that he had only received 15 marks in annual interest for the amount of 300 marks advanced to the cathedral chapter on the Utbrem tithing , although the corresponding mortgage note was for 20 marks. He renounced the difference.

On November 17, 1426, Hinrich acquired an estate in Grambke . On St. Agneten Day in Hamburg - without a year - the Bremen citizen Albert van der Horst complained to the Bremen council that he had been attacked by Hinrich von Hasbergen while escorting him.
