Sibet Attena , Latin also: Sibo , (* around 1425 ; † November 8, 1473 ) was an East Frisian chief . He was a son of Sibet von Dornum (olde Sibet) († 1433) and Frouwa von Manslagt, a daughter of Enno Cirksena .

He inherited the Osterburg in Dornum from his father . About his first wife, Onna von Stedesdorf, daughter of the hero Omken d. Ä., He also inherited Stedesdorf in 1447 and received the rights in Esens in 1454 as a nephew and loyal follower of Ulrich Cirksena . On the other hand, he renounced his maternal inheritance in Manslagt . Also in 1454 he supported Ulrich Cirksena against Tanne Kankena in Wittmund , occupied the castle there and drove him out. Seven years later he resigned his rights in Dornum. Sibet Attena called himself chief zu Esens, Stedesdorf and Wittmund since 1455. The Harlingerland was thus concretized as a sovereign territory.

After Onna von Stedesdorf died in 1464, he married Margarethe von Westerwolde for the second time.

Sibet was present at the ceremonial awarding of the imperial countship to Ulrich Cirksena in the inn church in Emden in 1464 and was knighted on this occasion .

After his death in 1473 a magnificent sandstone sarcophagus was built for him in the church of Esens , today's St. Magnus Church.
