Hiro Yamamoto

Hiro Yamamoto (born April 13, 1961 in Seattle ) is an American bass player of Japanese descent.

Together with Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil , with whom he had already played in the cover band The Shemps , Yamamoto founded the grunge band Soundgarden . In 1989 he left the band to complete his degree in physical chemistry at Western Washington University . His last appearance with the band took place in Melkweg in Amsterdam . After this, the band members got into a dispute, after which Yamamoto left the band. In 1991 he joined the independent band Truly , which he left in 1998.
