Hirschhorn is a district of the Wurmannsquick market in the Rottal-Inn district in Lower Bavaria .

location

Hirschhorn is located on the Geratskirchener Bach, a southern tributary of the Rott , on the B 588 between Mitterskirchen and Eggenfelden about one and a half kilometers northwest of Wurmannsquick.

history

Hirzar is first mentioned in a document in the Notitia Arnonis from 790. At that time it belonged to the Hochstift Salzburg . The Hofmark was in the 12./13. Century ministerial property of the Counts of Ortenburg . The original parish of Hirschhorn was incorporated into the Altötting Collegiate Monastery from 1256 to 1803 .

The owners of the Hofmark were Walchonus de Hirzar in 1165 and Erhart Hirssoraer in 1339. By marriage in 1434 Hirschhorn came into the possession of von Closen . At the end of the 15th century it was awarded to the related Zenger, until Hanns Christoph Closen received it in 1542/43 through contracts with the Regensburg Monastery and the Zenger heirs.

in the list of Bavarian freedom fighters in the lowlands of the Bavarian popular uprising of 1705/1706 the "Würth von Hürsching" (presumably Hirschhorn) is mentioned.

Until 1780, Hirschhorn remained in the possession of the von Closen who owned a castle here. After the death of Georg Cajetan's Count von Closen zu Gern, his daughter Maria Anna, married Freiin von Ingenheim, received Hirschhorn after an inheritance comparison. On March 5, 1833 Freiin von Ow , née Freiin von Ingenheim , renounced the patrimonial jurisdiction in favor of the Bavarian state .

The Hirschhorn community was established in 1818. With the territorial reform in 1971 it ceased to exist. The largest part came to the Wurmannsquick market on January 1, 1972, a smaller part to Mitterskirchen.

The former school served as a youth and club house, but has since been demolished and is now a parking lot. In 1993 the parish of Hirschhorn celebrated its 1200th anniversary. The former rectory has been converted into a residential building, and the home is located in the earlier parish tavern from the 16th century. The Hof-Theater Hinterholzen has been maintained since 2003.

Attractions

  • The most important building is the parish church of St. Rupertus. The exposed brick building is a late Gothic complex from the 15th century. In the 19th century the nave was raised and re-covered. The stately tower comes from the time it was built. The choir and the south aisle have a ribbed vault . The largely modern furnishings include a Pietà from the early 16th century and baroque figures of Saints Martin, Rupert and James. A baroque mercy seat is located above the southern portal . The baptism of the Bavarian Duke Theodo II by the church patron Rupert von Salzburg is depicted on the altar sheet of the former high altar (around 1700).
  • The former castle was built in the 16th century and remodeled in the 18th century.
