The Church of St. Basil of Ostrog. ( Serbian : Црква Светог Василија Острошког Чудотворца / Crkva Svetog Vasilije Ostroškog Čudotvorca) is a Serbian Orthodox parish church in the town of Sabac in northwestern Serbia .

Built from 2001 to 2002 church is the parish church of the parish Kasarske Livade in the deanery Sabac the eparchy Sabac the Serbian Orthodox Church. The church is dedicated to St. Vasilije Ostroški the miracle worker .

History and architecture

The Church of St. Vasilije Ostroški was built with the blessing of Bishop Lavrentije (Trifunović) in the Neo-Serbian-Byzantine style from 2001 to 2002. The plan of the church is a Greek cross , with an altar - apse in the east and two steeples in the west. Ktitor the church is in American Detroit living Vojin Višnjevac Visnjic.

The priests of the church and the parish are Ivan Jančić, Branko Simić, Milivoj Pajić, Mladen Šobot and Velimir Dimitrić.

House of goodwill

On the initiative of the Bishop of the Šabac Eparchy, Lavrentije (Trifunović), and the parents' association Parents with Autistic Children , an inpatient facility for people with intellectual disabilities was built near the church in 2008. The facility is called Kuća dobre volje (in English: House of Good Will), which can accommodate around 70 people. It is one of the most modern facilities of its kind in Serbia.
