Hochberg is a mountain and a district of the city of Traunstein in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .

The area of ​​the former municipality and today's Hochberg district is very sparsely populated and is located in the southeast of the city of Traunstein. Their district Hochberg had 306 inhabitants in 2015 on an area of ​​10.24 km², the place Hochberg itself is on the 775.6 meter high mountain of the same name . history

The Hochberg came into the possession of the Salzburg Archbishop in 1048 with a forest donation . The area later belonged to the main Lenzensberg team in the Miesenbach district in the Traunstein district court of the Duchy of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipality of Hochberg was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . In 1933 it had 426 inhabitants.
