The Shanghai University of Applied Technology (上海 应用 技术 大学, Pinyin: Shanghai Yingyong Jishu Daxue ), known in the English-speaking world as the Shanghai Institute of Technology or Shanghai Institute for Applied Technology , is a technical university in the People's Republic of China . It was founded in 2001 by the union of the three state technical universities in Shanghai. It comprises 14 faculties with 32 courses.
