The Shanghai Dianji University ( Chinese 上海 电机 学院 ; German University for Electric Motors Shanghai ) is a public university in Shanghai in the People's Republic of China , which is aimed at the development of practical skills, especially in the field of mechanical engineering .
history
Shanghai Dianji University was founded in 1953. The name of the university was changed to Electrical Engineering University in 1954 and again to Mechanical Engineering University in 1956. In 1970 the school was forced to disband. In 1978 the university reopened under the new name Shanghai Dianji University. Current research and training areas include intelligent wind energy , special motors and intelligent drive and control functions.
Location
Next to the old Minhang campus, there is a new campus in Lingang New City , in the southern part of the Shanghai region. The new Lingang location is a model city in the Pudong district of Shanghai that has been under construction since 2003 and is to be completed by 2020 by the German architects Gerkan, Marg and Partners . The Shanghai city government is pushing the construction of an industrial center for intelligent production; an area in which the Shanghai Dianji University also trains.
At the Shanghai Dianji University there is a Chinese-German College for Intelligent Production (CDKIP), where binational exchange and study programs are developed in cooperation with the University of Bremen .
