Hoffeld is a village in the municipality of Neckertal in the Toggenburg constituency of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland . Until 2008, Hoffeld belonged to the Mogelsberg community .
Hoffeld is a street village along the cantonal road Mogelsberg - Degersheim with around 250 inhabitants. Due to its location, the village is strongly oriented towards Degersheim. The post bus connects Hoffeld with Degersheim train station and with St. Peterzell.
Originally, grain cultivation with a mill predominated in agriculture. From the 18th century cotton was processed in the houses. At the end of the 19th century, cattle and dairy farming replaced arable farming.
The primary school students attend classes in Mogelsberg, the secondary school students in Necker or Degersheim.
