Hohehahn is the name of a nature reserve in the town of Wittmund in the Wittmund district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 124 is 8.5 hectares in size. It serves to protect a colony of gray herons on the edge of a birch quarry in the Hohehahn State Forest . The nature reserve is located southwest of Wittmund on federal highway 210 .
The area has been under nature protection since January 31, 1978. The competent lower nature conservation authority is the district of Wittmund.
