The Hohenfelder Mühlenau is a creek about 10 km long in the Plön district in the northeast of Schleswig-Holstein .

The Hohenfelder Mühlenau can be assigned to the type of gravel stream . It rises from Lake Selenter in Holstein and, together with the Salzau / Hagener Au, is one of its natural processes. Their stream with a gradient of around 4% and 10 km in length with a width of mostly 2 to 4 meters and a depth of 0.1 to 1.5 meters is interrupted by 2 obstacles, the Köhner mill, which only remains after its decline leaves a foundation, which is a 2 to 3 meter hurdle. This hurdle is now being circumvented within the framework of the Water Framework Directive with a bottom slip which will be built next to the existing structure. The Hohenfelder Mühle is also an obstacle of around 4 meters, which is partly bypassed by a fish path . The existing 50 hp Francis turbine is an obstacle, however. At the end of its 10 km long journey, the Hohenfelder Mühlenau flows into the Baltic Sea with a water quality of I-II .
