The Hohenthanner Schlossbrauerei GmbH & Co. KG (formerly: Schlossbrauerei Hohenthanner KG ) is a medium-sized private brewery from Hohenthann in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut .

history

The eponymous Hohenthann Castle

The brewery has been family-owned since it was founded in 1864 by Nikolaus Rauchenecker. His successor from 1891 was Johann Rauchenecker (1853–1903), a member of the Reichstag . The company has been managed by Johannes Rauchenecker since 2007. The Rauchenecker family has owned the eponymous Hohenthann Castle since 1929 .

The beer production facility has never changed in the company's 150-year history. The Bräustüberl , which used to be on the brewery site, was moved to the opposite side of the street in 1966 as part of an expansion of the brewery. In 2008 the Furth monastery brewery was taken over. In 2009 the Bräustüberl was reopened as the Hohenthanner Brauereigasthof and since then has had a large beer garden next to the castle chapel.
