Schloss Hohenthann is a castle in Hohenthann in the Landshut district .

history

Hohenthann was first mentioned in a document in 1125 (cf. Monumenta Augensia ). The mentioned local noble family of the Hohenthanner was resident at the place until 1407. The Hofmark and the castle later belonged to the Counts of Deuring , who were also owners of the Hohenthann local court from the middle of the 17th century until 1818. The old palace complex burned down during the War of the Spanish Succession together with several houses in 1704 and was rebuilt in the rococo style in the second half of the 18th century . In 1818 the Hofmark was acquired by Martin von Melzl. In 1929 the Rauchenecker family, owners of the Hohenthann Castle Brewery founded in 1864, acquired the estate, which was in a very poor condition. In the following years, however, extensive renovation measures were carried out, so that the castle is in good condition today.
