The Gisseltshausen Castle is a moated castle in the homonymous district of Rottenburg an der Laaber in Lower Bavaria . The simple, two-storey baroque building with a mansard half-hipped roof was erected in 1729 after the previous building burned down. It is believed that this early castle was built by the Jesuit order . The most famous resident is said to have been the dancer Lola Montez for some time , whose affair with King Ludwig I of Bavaria triggered the March Revolution in Munich in 1848 . According to an inscription, the castle was renovated by Albert and Anna Paul in 1967. The building has been renovated again since June 2015.

The castle is from the Bavarian State Conservation Office as a monument out with the number D-2-74-176-25.
