Martinet is a French commune with 1,136 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables d'Olonne and the canton of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire (until 2015: canton of La Mothe-Achard ). The inhabitants are called Martineziens .

geography

Martinet is about 19 kilometers west of La Roche-sur-Yon and about 21 kilometers north-northeast of Les Sables-d'Olonne . Martinet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-Hermier in the north and north-west, Aizenay in the north, Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche in the east and north-east, Saint-Georges-de-Pointindoux in the east and south-east and Saint-Julien-des-Landes in the south and west.
