The Bonbruck Castle is a former Hofmarkschloss in Bonbruck , a district of Bodenkirchen in Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . The town hall of the municipality has been housed in the building since 1983 , after having been used as a school building for many years.

history

The castle was built either in the early 14th century by the dukes of Bavaria-Landshut or around 1400 by the noble family of Ebenhausers on a hill above the Bina . This makes Bonbruck just one of several former court castles in the Bina valley in the area of today's municipality of Bodenkirchen. This also includes Rothenwörth , Binabiburg , Niederaich, Hilling and Langquart .

The castle was later owned by the Tabertshofers before it was acquired by Peter von Deuring zu Hohenthann in 1639 . Already in 1661 he sold it again to Albert Heinrich Everhardt, of whom a tombstone in the choir of the parish church of Bonbruck still bears testimony. The old castle, which was destroyed by flames in the village fire shortly before the end of the Thirty Years War in 1648 , stood directly on the bank of the Bina. Today there is a disability housing facility and a special needs school on the site . In the period that followed, a new baroque castle was built near the local church. From the end of the 18th century things went downhill with Hofmark Bonbruck, which was soon replaced. In the 19th century the castle was then structurally changed and then used as a school building.

description

Bonbruck Castle is a two-story hipped roof building with eight window axes. The facade is structured by extensive rusting , especially in the area of the windows.
