Mirskofen Castle is a castle in Mirskofen ( Markt Essenbach ) in the Landshut district .

history

Mirskoven was the seat of a rather insignificant Hofmark since the 14th century . In 1466 and 1490 the Landshut citizen Wilhelm Neumeyer is mentioned as the owner, in 1616 the ducal treasurer Dr. Johann Plank. After 1818 Mirskofen was only run as a patrimonial court for a short time, which was owned by the retired district judge von Peyrer. The later owner, Count Philipp von Deroy, had Mirskofen Palace demolished and rebuilt around 1840 . In 1915 the property passed to Count Josef Erwein von Deroy-Fürstenberg, who released it as refugee accommodation after the Second World War . The current owner, Joseph Graf von Deym from Arnstorf, has thoroughly renovated the building.

description

The castle is a classicist complex with a three-storey central building and two two-storey wings attached to the sides, these drawn in to the courtyard side, hipped roof buildings with corner rustication and plastered structure from the late 18th century. The castle chapel of St. John of Nepomuk in the three-storey central building, the choir of which was built before 1770 using the late Gothic tower from the 15th century, was extended in 1957. To the south there is a choir flank tower with floor structure, blind arches and pointed helmet.

The castle is now under number D-2-74-128-33 as a monument under monument protection .
