history

Biedenbach was the seat of a Hofmark of the Landshut family Reykher. In 1503 Caspar Reykher zu Bidenbach is proven. Later the castle came into the family of the Count zu Freyen Seyboltstorff . The castle was rebuilt around 1720 for the later son Georg Carl Anton Alois Adam zu Freyen Seyboltstorff, who worked as a pastor in Velden. Until the end of the 19th century, Biedenbach was the vicarage of Velden.

Building description

The two-storey three-wing complex with hipped roofs, the main house with arbor and bell rider dates from the late 17th century. The expansion took place around 1720, the house chapel with furnishings is on the first floor. The former stable building with a crooked roof probably dates from the 18th century; the garden was built around 1920 from the parish garden, with older trees and the so-called Herrengarten east of the house. The enclosure, a wall with pillars and gates, was built around 1910 and was raised after 1945.
