Bruck Castle Mountain is in Bruckberg (Niederbayern) located castle . The main buildings are an irregular four-wing complex around a narrow courtyard from the 17th century. A donjon with a tent roof is situated higher up and only connected to the main buildings by a wall.

history

In 880, the future Emperor Arnulf of Carinthia made a donation to Count Sighart von Ebersberg in Bruckberg, the Villa Berga. In the 11th century a relative of the Counts von Moosburg-Roning-Rottenburg built a castle . It probably served to protect an Isar crossing mentioned in 1377.

From the 12th to the middle of the 14th century, the castle was owned by the influential local noble family of the Bruckbergs, after which the castle often changed hands. In the Thirty Years War , Bruckberg was almost completely destroyed by the Swedes. In 1770 a large part of the castle burned down. It was restored shortly afterwards. Since 1826 the barons von Schacky owned the castle. Today the castle is owned by the Barons von Korff.
