Hold on Now, Youngster… is the debut album by the Welsh indie pop band Los Campesinos! . It was released in the United Kingdom on February 22, 2008 by Wichita Recordings . It contains 12 tracks, although only 11 are on the album's back cover. The 12th song is 2007: The Year Punk Broke (My Heart) , an unlisted bonus track on the CD and a C-side on the double record. Hold on Now, Youngster… reached 72nd place in the UK album charts.

The reviews of the album were very positive. At Metacritic , the album has an average rating of 81 based on 29 reviews. Marc Hogan from Pitchfork gave 8.4 out of 10 points and wrote " Hold on Now, Youngster ... is a dizzy, melodic love note of individuality, pathos, intelligence, silliness and everything else on which indie pop has made its name." The review by Tim Sendra ( Allmusic ) was also very positive with 4.5 out of 5 points: “To recommend the album is too easy an option; to demand it would be more appropriate. Consider Hold on Now, Youngster ... then highly necessary. ”Drowned in Sound gave a 9/10 point and stated that“ there is really nothing wrong with the album. It's simply the best sugar high you can have this year, and at this point it sounds a lot like the best debut album by a British indie band since Tigermilk . ”Martina Kellner from laut.de was also very impressed with it with 4 out of 5 points Debut album: “The Welsh pieces are bursting with joy and exuberance and beguile with lots of lo-fi charm. First of all, there are the screeching, squeaky indie guitars and the rumbling, hippy drums. In addition, there are child-like, light, playful violin and piano sounds, here and there a little chimes and a lot of clapping, which mixes the whole thing into a fantastically danceable power-pop mixture.
