Holdine sting

Holdine Stachel (born November 30, 1892 in Danzig ; † July 26, 1974 in Schwerin ) was a German politician and writer .

Life

The communist Holdine Stachel initially worked as a teacher. During the time of National Socialism , she was active in the anti-fascist resistance group Alois Stachel in Danzig and also worked with the North Section of the Central Committee of the KPD in Copenhagen .

After the Second World War she initially acted as head of the school department of the state leadership of the KPD (and after the compulsory unification of the SPD and KPD in 1946, the SED ) of Mecklenburg . From 1949 to 1952 she was senior clerk in the Ministry of Popular Education of the State of Mecklenburg. Later she was a member of the Schwerin district leadership of the SED and a member of the district committee of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship .

Her literary work focused on novels with a regional reference to Mecklenburg and children's books. She summarized her experiences from working in the Society for German-Soviet Friendship in the posthumously published book Liberators, Allies, Friends . Stachel's estate is kept in the Schwerin State Main Archive.

In 1962 she received the Silver Patriotic Order of Merit .
