Life

From 1986 to 1989 he studied at the Journalism Section in Leipzig . Until 1990 he was an editor at the " Thüringische Landeszeitung " in Weimar . Since 1991 he has worked as an editor and correspondent for several daily newspapers and news agencies , such as Reuters and the ddp . Since 2004 he has worked and lived as an EU correspondent and publicist in Brussels .

In numerous foreign reports, especially at the beginning of the 1990s, he reported on the war conflicts in Chechnya and the former Yugoslavia and their consequences. He made no secret of his pacifist attitude. In addition, over the years he primarily dealt with the social problem of right-wing radicalism in Germany .

After a long illness he is working increasingly as an editor and editor . For example, he edited the non-fiction book published by Dietz-Verlag in Berlin , “The Reconstruction Lie of the Federal Republic or: How the Neoliberals Produce Their 'Arguments'” (Author: Jürgen Rösler / 2008) and is supposed to be essential to the publication of the factual novel “The Band of Elephant Hair” ( Author: Paul Alexander Ott / 2008). The novel gives deep insights into the extent of fraud and mismanagement in EU projects and subsidies .

In January 2009 Elias took over the management of Greifenverlag , which was re-established in Berlin. He also acts as editor of the book series Fundstücke and Greifenkrimi . The latter was already well known during the GDR era, but initially disappeared from the book market after two failed attempts at privatization by the publisher. The first Greifenkrimi appeared in March 2009, the Rügen novel "Linstow's Secret" by the Cologne author Isa Schikorsky. In the meantime the publisher had to file for bankruptcy, Elias withdrew as a publisher. From March 2011 on he was the publisher of the book publisher Der Neue Morgen . The company has since expired.
