Career

Holger Menke played handball at TV Emsdetten , TUSEM Essen and Spvg Versmold . In 1995 the 1.94 meter tall left back player joined the THW Kiel , with whom he became German champion in 1996 . Since Menke hardly got any game shares in the 1996/97 season behind Thomas Knorr and Wolfgang Schwenke, who had returned to THW from VfL Bad Schwartau , he moved to VfL Gummersbach at the beginning of 1997 . In the 1997/98 season he first played at OSC Rheinhausen . After the OSC withdrew from the Bundesliga at the end of 1997 due to financial problems, it ran from January 1998 on at the regional division Eintracht Hildesheim .

In April 2000, Holger Menke, who had already finished his professional career, rejoined the THW Kiel, where he was planned as a training and stand-by player. In the 2000/01 season he made three appearances in the professional squad, one each in the Bundesliga , the DHB Cup and the EHF Champions League .

Menke later played at VfL Bad Schwartau and from 2005 at Ahrensburger TSV .
