Holoschyna ( Ukrainian Голошина ; Russian Голошина Goloschina , Romanian Holoşina , Polish Holoszina ) is a village in the Eastern Carpathians in the south of the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast with about 120 inhabitants (2006).
The scattered settlement on both sides of the Cheremosh was created in the 19th century as Holoszina and was then separated by the river in the south-east of the historical landscape of Galicia and in Bukovina . After 1919 the present village became part of Romania under the name Holoşina , while the part in Galicia, today's Holoschyna in the Verkhovyna district , became part of the Second Polish Republic .
The mountain village is located at an altitude of 1339 m and, together with the villages of Plaj ( Плай ) and Jablunyzja ( Яблуниця ), belongs to the district municipality of Jablunyzja within the Putyla district in Pokutien . It is located about 15 km as the crow flies and 52 km by road southwest of the Putyla district center .
