The Holzbach is a five-kilometer-long orographically left tributary of the Diemel in the Hessian municipality of Diemelsee in Germany .

geography

The Holzbach rises about 1.4 kilometers southwest of Ottlar , directly on the district road to Rattlar at about 564  m above sea level. NN . In front of this, the stream flows primarily in northeastern directions. After flowing through the aforementioned town of Ottlar, the brook flows around the Haardt in a loop , before it rises a little later to 376  m above sea level. NN flows into the Diemel on the left . The mouth is only a good 200 meters south of the Diemelsee and about 1.4 kilometers northwest of Giebringhausen .

On its five-kilometer path, the stream overcomes a difference in altitude of around 188 meters. This corresponds to a mean bed slope of 37.6 ‰. It drains a 6,579  square kilometer large catchment area over Diemel and Weser to the North Sea .
