Holzhausen is a district of the city of Heldburg in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

location

Holzhausen is located in the Heldburger Land, southwest of Bad Rodach and northeast of Bad Colberg-Heldburg on state road 2642 near the border with Bavaria in a rural setting.

history

The village was first mentioned on March 22, 1137. This date also leads the parish of the village. The marshals von Stauf owned the land, then the Veßra monastery . In 1462 the residents built the church. In 1722 the lovely church of St. Wolfgang and Jacobus was rebuilt.
