Holzmanno Winterstein , also Holzmanno Lagrene , (* 1952 in Molsheim / Alsace ) is a German guitarist, and above all an interpreter of music that is often played by German and French musicians from the Sinti community, especially gypsy jazz , also known as Sinti-Swing, Jazz Manouche or Swing Manouche, but also plays modern jazz. Winterstein is a Sinto .

With his parents and siblings, including Ziroli Winterstein , he lived for many years on the Hartenberg in Mainz. He learned to play the guitar from his father, Prinzo Winterstein , who was considered one of the best guitarists among the Sinti. At the age of 17 (1969) he played in the " Schnuckenack Reinhardt Quintet". Three years later, in September 1972, he was together with his two years younger brother Ziroli Winterstein, who also played guitar, a member of the newly founded " Häns'che Weiss Quintet". From 1976 Holzmanno Winterstein took a break from professional music-making for four years. Later, he was among the Hot Club the Zigan of Schmitto Kling to. He also played with Titi Winterstein and has appeared with Biréli Lagrène and Wawau Adler .

He plays at many renowned festivals in France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and other countries, as well as at the tent music festival in Freiburg and at various other domestic appearances.

As a rhythm guitarist, he is currently often active in the Wawau Adler Trio and the New Haens'che Weiss Ensemble.
