The Homberg is a 451.4  m high mountain in the southern Siegerland in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The mountain peak is located about 880 m northwest of the old Obersdorf town center and only about 300 m west of the northwestern outskirts. The mountain is part of the mountain range that forms the border between the districts of Obersdorf and Eisern and the municipality of Wilnsdorf and the city of Siegen between Leimbachtal in the north and Obersdorftal in the south .

About 2 km to the west is the 482.3  m high Eisernhardt, the highest neighboring mountain in the area. Other mountains in the area are the Dillberg approx. 1 km south, with a height of 405.9  m or an unnamed peak approx. 600 m east of the Homberg. This is 455.3  m high and is built on from the summit to the south by the village of Obersdorf. In the north, some tributaries of the Leimbach arise, which flows further northwest to Siegen. The Obersdorf rises on the southeastern mountain slope, flows past the mountain to the south and flows into the Eisernbach in Eisern .

The federal highway 54 runs past to the east, the road 909 branches off to the south, as well as the L 562, which leads from Eisern through the Leimbachtal to Siegen and is also connected to the highway 45, which runs about 1.5 km south of the mountain.

The Aurora , Prinz Friedrich and Silberquelle pits were located on the mountain slopes . The Prince Friederich mine was the largest. Operations ceased in 1903. The mine had its greatest extraction in 1872 with 3,145 t of iron stone. The Silberqueller Erbstollen in the Obersdorftal was also used by a winged site . The Silberquelle mine was in operation until 1911 and belonged to Eisernhardter Tiefbau . In 1885 the mine produced 6114 t of iron ore, 11 t of zinc ore and 41 t of lead ore. The shaft , built in 1874, was 180 m deep and equipped with a twin steam engine.
