Hong Jeong-ho ( kor. 홍정호 ; born August 12, 1989 in Jeju ) is a South Korean football player . He has been under contract with South Korean first division club Jeonbuk Motors since January 2018 .
Career
societies
In January 2010, Hong moved from the soccer team of the private South Korean Chosun University , where he took his first professional steps in competitive sports, to the soccer franchise Jeju United for free . After initial injuries, he was first used on May 26, 2010 for the club in a game for the Korean Football Cup. In 57 games for Jeju United, he was able to score two goals.
Shortly before the end of the transfer period, Hong moved to Bundesliga club FC Augsburg on September 1, 2013 , with whom he signed a contract that was valid until June 30, 2017. He made his Bundesliga debut on October 5, 2013 (8th matchday) in the 1: 4 defeat in the away game against FC Schalke 04 with a substitution for Halil Altıntop in the 18th minute. He scored his first Bundesliga goal on December 13, 2015 (16th matchday) in a 2-1 win at home against FC Schalke 04 with the goal to make it 1-0 in the 34th minute. For the 2016 season he was signed by the Chinese first division club Jiangsu Suning FC , who provided him with a contract valid until 2019. In January 2018, I moved back home to Jeonbuk Motors .
National team
While he was on the university team, Hong played for the U-20 national team . As a member of the squad at the U-20 World Cup in 2009, he already played five tournament games. He has been a member of the senior national team since 2010 and scored his first international goal on November 15, 2013 in a 2-1 win in Seoul in the international test match against Switzerland, with the goal of equalizing in the 59th minute.
On 9 May 2014 he was appointed by South Korean coach Myung-Bo Hong in the squad of the senior national team for the World Cup in 2014 appointed.
