HOPPE is a Swiss group of companies that develops, manufactures and markets hardware systems made of aluminum, stainless steel, brass and plastic for windows and doors. It employs a total of over 2,600 people in seven plants in Europe and the USA.

history

In 1952 the company for the production of door fittings was founded by Friedrich Hoppe in Heiligenhaus near Düsseldorf. In 1954 he moved the seat to Allendorf in central Hesse (today's Stadtallendorf in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district ); two years later, a branch was established in Bromskirchen near Frankenberg ( Waldeck-Frankenberg district ), 55 kilometers away . Another branch of the company has been operating in South Tyrol since 1965 . In 1989 a subsidiary was founded in the USA . After German reunification, HOPPE took over a former VEB in Crottendorf ( Saxony ) in 1991 and built a new plant there in 1993. Brass fittings have been manufactured in Komotau (Chomutov) in the Czech Republic since 1996 .

The company logo comes from the Swiss graphic designer Walter Haettenschweiler .
