Horgen is a district of Zimmer ob Rottweil in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg . The village of Horgen and the Wildenstein homestead belong to the former municipality of Horgen.

Horgen is located on the eastern edge of the Black Forest in the Eschach valley , at the confluence of the Württemberg and Baden Eschach, 4 km southwest of Zimmer ob Rottweil.
history
Horgen (ahd .: hor = swamp floor, swamp) is mentioned for the first time in 1306 in a document from the Rottenmünster monastery . From 1490, Weckenstein Castle continues to be called, in its place today the Church of St. Martin is located. In 1531 Horgen was sold by the Iffling family to the city of Rottweil and was subject to it until 1802, when its status as a free imperial city was revoked. After that, Horgen remained independent until it was incorporated in 1973.
The ruins of Wildenstein Castle are located above the Eschach Valley near Horgen .
