Horst-Wilhelm Jung

Horst-Wilhelm Jung (born April 14, 1938 in Daxweiler ) is a German educational scientist , history didactician and historian .

Professional background

After graduating from high school in 1957, Jung studied at the universities of Mainz and Vienna a. a. History and German Studies (1st state examination for teaching at secondary schools in 1964). In 1965 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the Mainz court chancellor and reformer of the old Mainz university, Anselm Franz von Bentzel-Sternau . After the 2nd state examination (1965), Jung first worked as a high school teacher in Rhineland-Palatinate.

From 1969 to 1971 he was assistant (assistant à titre étranger) at the Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines in Metz (France) and from 1971 to 1975 research assistant at the University of Education in Rhineland-Palatinate , Koblenz department.

From 1975 to 2002 he taught as professor for "educational science with special consideration of didactics of history and / or politics" at the University of Hamburg .
